Cesarean Awareness: Reduce Risk Tip #2 - Labor at Home

If you have chosen a hospital or birth center to give birth, studies suggest that the likelihood of a cesarean birth is reduced if you wait to go until you are in active labor versus early labor.  Talk with your provider in advance about your desire to stay home for as long as possible and the various ways to assess progress until you determine it's time to go. Doula support at home during this time can be extremely useful and helpful in your transition to your birthplace.
