About LEAD... The Lake Erie Association of Doulas (LEAD) was formed in 2000 to promote the doula profession and the doula's role in helping mothers and babies realize safe and satisfying births. LEAD's members are dedicated to learning and practicing the essential art of "mothering the mother", and share a common desire to help mothers, fathers, and babies enjoy the experience of pregnancy and birth in a deeply meaningful way. LEAD's membership includes certified doulas, doulas-in-training and other childbirth professionals who are affiliated with the world's most well-known and respected professional childbirth education and labor support organizations. Our members serve families in the in the greater Erie region of northwestern Pennsylvania. LEAD doulas also volunteer their services to special populations who might not otherwise be able to have a doula, including teens and incarcerated women. If you would like to learn more about LEAD or support the work that we do, please contact one of our members. (LEAD Doula Listing)
